So austere, so divine---
Once again your eyes flicker
Just barely catching mine
Like an old, forgotten Roman goddess
No one remembers the name to
You weave your way through
With self-loathing and pride
Your own walking contradiction
Of elegance and disgrace
Enough to fool the masses
But not enough to hide your shame
Weave your web of deceitful honesty
But remember the haunting flow
The farce is only the glare
That hides your face in our view
Do you think lady
You could paint that picture again
The one that fades into the sun?
